Summer is always a busy time of the year at Fort Knox and in our surrounding communities. This year is no different. As the installation swells by some 14,000 people thanks to Cadet Summer Training, our community welcomes thousands of families from all over the country who are here to see their college ROTC cadet graduate. Our thanks to all of the businesses and community partners who have helped roll out the welcome mat for these special guests.
It is also the annual moving season for military families and many will be looking for a place to call home in the Greater Fort Knox Region. That is why we so appreciate the partnership we enjoy with the Heart of Kentucky Association of Realtors (HKAR) and their commitment to understanding and supporting Fort Knox and military families. HKAR’s annual visit to post is always a favorite.
Summer is also a season of transition for many of the major commands on post. As we bid farewell to several senior Army leaders, we extend a warm welcome to the new commanding officers and command sergeants major.
Speaking of new leaders, KRDA will soon welcome retired Colonel Lance O’Bryan, who begins his transition in August and officially takes the reins in November. With his experience, most notably as the former Fort Knox Garrison Commander, and enthusiasm for the installation and community, we are confident he is going to do great things and build upon all that KRDA has accomplished in the last decade.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. Thank you for your continued support of Fort Knox.
Warm Regards,
