Steve Laick is the president of the local chapter of the Association of the United States Army and as such serves as an ex officio member of the KRDA board. A retired Command Sergeant Major, Laick served his country for more than 32 years in numerous leadership positions culminating as the Marketing and Engagement Brigade Command Sergeant Major at Fort Knox.
Laick and his family chose to stay in the Greater Fort Knox Region following his retirement because of its central location, growing economy, and numerous opportunities to be engaged. In addition to his work at Fort Knox, Laick and his wife are small business owners in nearby Meade County where he serves a three-county region as the publisher of the Meade County Messenger. He also volunteers his time on the local Animal Control Advisory board.
Like many others who were stationed at Fort Knox, my wife and I chose to stay here in retirement. It's not only a great place to raise a family, but also a prime location to be an active and engaged member of your community. Fort Knox is such an integral part of this region’s story and I’m proud to serve a community organization committed to supporting it and the Soldiers stationed there.
